Toowoomba Second Range Crossing - Morleys Road

By Megan Maurer

Nov 2016

The Reinforced Earth® TechSpan® precast concrete arch segments have been installed for the Morleys Road underpass tunnel on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing Project in QLD. With the arch elements now in place, impermeable geotextile and grouting will be applied to the joints and a reinforced concrete beam will be constructed along the crown of the arch. The Reinforced Earth® backfill will then be placed over the tunnel creating a strong base for the road above. This system is designed to accommodate high fills, heavy live loads and altering loading conditions making it perfect for this application.
